Q: Are you excited for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023?
DJ Sid: I couldn’t be more thrilled about performing for the fans at the world cup, especially with the event taking place right here in India. The upbeat energy of cricket enthusiasts is contagious, and as a cricket fan myself, there’s nothing more gratifying than setting the perfect musical atmosphere for the thousands of passionate fans who gather to revel in the sport.
Q: Who do you see making it to the top 4 in the tournament?
DJ Sid: Well, I won’t play the prediction game for the top 4, but if you’re talking about the trophy lifter, it’s going to be India!
Q: Do you ever feel the weight of responsibility at major events? Any nervous moments?
DJ Sid: To be frank I’d never be in the profession of playing music if it could ever make me nervous, Responsibility for sure is a huge one, the fans are their to enjoy the sport and to be able to play perfectly to the moments keeping them on their toes and the adrenaline all spiked up is my job that I take pride in and very seriously.
Q: What can the fans expect from your performances at the ICC World Cup 2023?
DJ Sid: Fans can expect a high-energy and memorable experience. I’ll be playing a mix of tracks that will get everyone pumped up and in the cricket spirit. It’s all about celebrating the game and creating unforgettable moments.
Q: As a DJ, how do you prepare for such a massive event like the World Cup?
DJ Sid: Preparation is key. My preparation began right when I had started playing with broken track records in my backyard as a child. The key thing for me is to be able to play to the vibe for which I make sure that I do not pre select everything, making the performances mechanised, I just try to keep my head clear, be in the spirit of joy and play the music that comes from within at the moment. I also work closely with the event organisers to sync my music with the game’s dynamics. It’s all about creating the right vibe for the occasion.
Q: What are you looking forward to the most during your World Cup performances?
DJ Sid: I’m most excited about the fans’ reactions. Seeing lakhs of people dancing and enjoying the music is a feeling like no other. I can’t wait to be a part of their World Cup memories.
Q: What’s next for you?
DJ Sid: Well, I’m always on the lookout for new musical adventures. After the World Cup, I’ll continue doing what I love most – creating and performing music.
