Dhyanchand awardee Grandmaster Abhijit Kunte has been selected on the global format, as a member of the Election Commission of FIDE. World Chess Federation announced the same lately.
Famous Grandmaster from Maharastra, Abhijit Kunte’s contribution towards Chess and several Chess related organizations, proved to be remarkable. It is therefore he has been assigned to the post of Election Commission member.
While expressing his joy over his selection, the Grandmaster said that this is a proud moment for him. We are now going to take special efforts to promote Chess globally.
This channel will help Chess reach the grass root level. Commission has done a remarkable job so far. It is therefore important for me to have got an opportunity to work with them, said delighted Grandmaster Abhijit Kunte.
